Title: Determining the role of Bionexia, a herbal, topical preparation  in halting hair loss and promoting hair re-growth in men and woman

Introduction:

In general the hair follicle undergoes a cycle of hair growth (anagen) followed by a cycle of regression (catagen), and quiescence (telogen) until a new hair shaft is generated in the existing follicle during the subsequent anagen phase (Hardy et al. 1992 Trents Genet.8:55-61). The hair shaft is derived from the epithelial matrix cells at the base of the follicle, but a cluster of dermal cells ensheated by the matrix cells, known as the dermal papilla (DP), is thought to supply inductive signals required for hair outgrowth.

The isolation of dermal papillae (DP) from human hair follicles and the establishment of primary cell cultures from the papilla explants in a nutrient medium have been reported (Messenger, 1984, British J. of Dermatol 110:685-689).

The investigator has found that the hair-inductivity of a dermal papilla (DP) cell that has lost hair-inductive ability in culture, or has reduced hair-inductive ability in culture, e.g., as compared to in vivo, can be increased  (e.g., reconstituted), or that the hair inductivity of a DP cell can be maintained, or its loss minimized, the introduction and use of Sea cucumber (Gamat) and Trichogen Formula, which allows the rounding-up and/or self generation of DP cells and its antimicrobial qualities help to condition the scalp.

The Study: (Clinical evidence)

The study was conducted on  400 men and 100 woman. All subjects were screened to determine the presence of  “live” hair follicles and were in the early stages of hair loss. The test was conducted over a period of two months and all test subjects were ask to apply Bionexia Hair Re-growth Formula twice daily (morning and evening) and to use the Bionexia Shampoo and Conditioner as per their normal practice of personal hair care.

Results :

Subjective and objective tests were conducted. It was found that many test subjects reported that the treatment arrested hair fall out after one or two weeks. They also reported that the hair seemed to voluminize and that the scalp felt cleaner and the hair healthier.

In 97% of all test subjects there was downy hair re-growth visible after about four to six weeks which over the following weeks grew in to normal healthy hair. The resulting hair re-growth is not dramatic in the early phase of the treatment as hair only grows 0.5 to 1 inch per month. It was also found to be showing the best results when applied at 7AM and again 7PM (or before going to bed).

Discussion:

Based on the evidence collected from the test subjects, the investigators found that Bionexia Hair Re-growth Formula does possess hair regeneration properties.

It is found that when combined with the other products (Shampoo and Conditioner which also contain the active ingredient), the results demonstrate a significant improvement. All test subjects were polled for level of satisfaction and over 75% reported better than expected results.

In conclusion, it is safe to state that Bionexia does indeed demonstrate hair re-growth properties where follicles are alive and that it improves the quality of existing hair.
